City Project in Halifax
This past week we had the opportunity of hosting a group of university students from our sending church - Mercy Hill in Greensboro, NC. We asked one of the students to share her experience and what God taught her through her time in Halifax. Sarah Keatts shares about her time here in Halifax.
The Freedom of Self-Forgetfullness
This past week we dove into Luke 18:9-14 and the parable of the pharisee and the tax collector. One thing we saw is how pride produces a mis-guided focus, which in turn produces a sense of harmful and fickle self-confidence. Our focus is often either on what others think of us or what we think about ourselves and thus we attempt to build our self-esteem on either an internal or external standard.
Living SENT
What does it mean to “live SENT”? For many of us this phrase may not mean much but for 15 university students and 6 young adults from Greensboro, North Carolina, this saying holds much weight. For years, one of our sending churches, Mercy Hill, has led a movement across university campuses called City Project where students leverage their lives for the name of Jesus to be made known locally, nationally, and internationally.
When You Pray Say…
JD Greear said, “the prayers that start in heaven are heard by heaven”. One of the best practices for prayer and one that helps us know we are praying in alignment with our Heavenly Father is to pray Scripture. Below are a few helpful passages of Scripture that you can use to pray in congruence with the heart of heaven… starting with the greatest prayer book in history, the book of Psalms.
Wayfarers’ Church
My name is Andy. I was born and raised right here in Nova Scotia. Fun fact: I grew up in a lighthouse in Tatamagouche. I became a Christian at age 8. Kayla and I met at New Brunswick Bible Institute and got married in 2011. We have four kids: Norah, Jude, London, and Gemma. Before planting this church in Spryfield, I pastored in Cumberland Bay, New Brunswick for 7 and a half years.
