What can I expect?
Join us Sunday, September 7th at 10:00 AM at 435 Hammonds Plains Rd in Bedford (meeting at Sandy Lake Academy) for a special morning of worship and community as we celebrate the start of the fall season together!
Fall is a natural time to re-engage—a fresh start to grow deeper in your faith, build meaningful relationships, and step into the life God is calling us to live together. This Sunday is the perfect chance to reconnect, invite a friend, and lean into the gift of community as we head into a new season.
We’ll also be announcing our fall 'Groups' lineup that morning! Port City Groups launch the week of September 14th, so you’ll have a chance to hear about the different groups, meet leaders, and find your place in community this fall.
Please arrive a few minutes early to find parking as it'll be a full Sunday, grab a seat, and enjoy a great cup of coffee from Cortado Tasting Room. During our 80-minute worship gathering, we’ll sing together, open God’s Word, and set our hearts on Jesus for the months ahead.
Immediately after the gathering, stick around for our Fall Kickoff Celebration in the school parking lot—bounce castles, face painting, yard games, and food trucks for you to purchase lunch (bring a chair and grab lunch with friends). There will be plenty of space for connection, laughter, and time with church family.

Who is welcome?
At Port City, we strive to provide radical hospitality to every person who comes through our doors. We know it can be super intimidating when you go to a new place or meet new people so it's our goal to create a welcoming environment for each person who attends. Whether you’re skeptical and unsure about your faith, curious and exploring your faith, or already a Christian but seeking a local church home, we believe Port City is the place for you.
What if I have children?
If you have children from infancy through grade three, we offer a special program for them during the gathering.
Ages 0–3: You can check your child in before the gathering begins. They’ll stay in their designated area for the entire time.
Ages 4–Grade 3: These children can also be checked in before the gathering. They’ll start in the gathering with their families for worship, then be dismissed with our Kids Ministry Team just before the sermon begins.
All of our Kids Ministry volunteers are trained, background-checked, and excited to welcome your little ones! During their time, your child will learn from God’s Word, sing songs, make friends, play, and yes—enjoy some goldfish crackers.
Children in Grade 4 and older will remain with you during the gathering. To help them engage, we’ve prepared activity and coloring sheets on clipboards, available as you enter the gym. We encourage your kids to grab one so they can follow along with the sermon text in an interactive way.
How do I invite others?
Invite a friend, tell a co-worker, or share with a family member. On Sunday, August 31st, we’ll have inviter cards available for you to take and use to personally invite someone to join you on September 7th.

Where do I go?
Our Fall Kickoff worship gathering will be held at Sandy Lake Academy (435 Hammonds Plains Rd, Bedford) at 10:00 AM.
We anticipate a higher volume of cars on this special Sunday, so we encourage you to arrive by 9:45 AM to give our parking team plenty of time to direct you and ensure a smooth start to the morning.
