Acts 6-7
When we think of changing the world, often our mind goes to the big, the grandios - the Nobel Prizes, the medals of honor, the major discoveries. And those certainly are important and have their own place. But the Bible gives us a bit of a different picture of what a world-changer looks like. In Acts 6 we are introduced to a person named Stephen…who the Bible says in v.5 was ”a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit.” And a man by whom God used to change the world. This week we look at how Stephen’s world-changing story can be our story.

Acts 4:32-5:11
In Acts 4 we began to see a threat to the church from the outside (i.e. Peter and John’s arrest). But then in Acts 5 we see a threat to the church on the inside. The church is blowing and going in Jerusalem…People are coming to faith left and right from all walks of life. People are being healed. There’s an entire community caring for one another. And Satan hates all of it. What you see in Acts is the repeated attempts of a real enemy (God’s enemy) to take down the very thing that God has established. And the one area that he will continually come after is the unity of the church.
