Summer Read: Week #1
Introductions and chapter #1 (The Problem with Emotionally Unhealthy Spirituality)

When Your Foot Falls Asleep…
Everyone knows the feeling. You prop up your feet in order to enjoy an hour of your favourite show or get lost in a good book. As you step down and attempt to stand, that numb tingly feeling shoots up from where your right foot used to be because you swear if you weren’t looking at it that your foot has now disappeared. Your foot has fallen asleep.

What's So New About the New Covenant?
This past week in our Port City gathering we unpacked Jesus' institution of the Lord’s Supper (in Luke 22:14-23). It’s in this farewell discourse to his disciples that Jesus addresses the concept of the new covenant. In doing so, Jesus is pulling together hundreds of years of biblical history and helping his disciples to see how he himself is the fulfilment of God’s plan since before the creation of the world. The book of Hebrews actually refers to Jesus as the mediator of the new covenant (9:15).

City Project in Halifax
This past week we had the opportunity of hosting a group of university students from our sending church - Mercy Hill in Greensboro, NC. We asked one of the students to share her experience and what God taught her through her time in Halifax. Sarah Keatts shares about her time here in Halifax.
